Operators may compensate with offsets, setup changes, or slower cutting conditions, but those adjustments do not fix the underlying machine condition.

A large machine should be evaluated with proper measurement tools and a clear understanding of machine geometry. This may involve checking level, straightness, squareness, spindle alignment, table movement, ram alignment, rotary positioning, or other relationships depending on the equipment.
